Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA) announced more closures and restrictions to take place beginning today. Not viewed as a total lockdown, the mandate aims to help control the spread of the third wave of Covid-19.
In addition, BMA imposed a 20,000 baht fine for anyone caught not wearing a mask.
Here is a list of the businesses that are now closed or have restricted hours:
- Amulet shops
- Amusement theme parks, include water parks
- Banquet halls
- Bowling alleys
- Boxing stadiums and schools
- Convention centers
- Dance halls and studios
- Elderly care centers
- Entertainment venues
- Fitness centers
- Horse racing tracks
- Internet cafes
- Libraries
- Martial arts facilities
- Meeting rooms
- Movie Theaters
- Museums
- Plant and flower nurseries
- Public swimming pools
- Skate parks
- Snooker, billiard, pool parlors
- Sporting venues
- Tattoo parlors
- Thai massage parlors
- Video game shops
- Weight control clinics
- Wellness centers
- Zoos
- Convenience stores are allowed to stay open from 5am - 10pm
- Shopping malls are allowed to stay open from 11am - 8pm
- Beauty salons and hairdressers may open but customers have to wait outside
- No gatherings of more than 20 people
